Have you ever wondered where the path of your life will lead you in 5 years?
What if you could pop in a DVD today and watch you live your life 5 years from now.
This is an exercise I did back in 2011 and 5 years later I have accomplished about 70% of my goals. I’m planning on creating my next DVD for 2020 in the next couple of months.
When I did this exercise in 2011, it was fun to imagine my life in 2016, but I didn’t yet understand the power of the visioning process.
What was the point of this exercise?
As Stephen Covey said, “Start with the end in mind.”
Create your vision for your life and your work. And repeat the visioning exercise every few months. The goal is to have crystal clear clarity…the more detail the better. The better you can picture your future the more likely it is you’ll achieve it. Feel it, taste it, see it…
Once you know where you want your endpoint to be, you can come back to where you are today and start putting a plan in place with milestones along the way.
The point of the exercise is that in 5-years time you will end up somewhere. Let’s make it the ideal place you want to be. This exercise will multiply the probability of success.
