Polarizing My Customer Base

Part of the benefit of running your own company is the ability to choose your clients. It’s part of having sovereignty over your business, a topic I will address in the future.

Once you’ve defined your target market, you must realize that not all customers are equal. Business should be fun and certain types of customers can turn your dreams of success into a recurring nightmare.

I choose my clients very carefully. To enter in a coaching relationship, I have both a written and verbal application process to ensure a good fit. There is a similar process for a company to hire me as an interim CFO.

Here are some things I look for in my ideal customer:

  1. A calling to create something significant
  2. A passion for the company’s mission. I’m not interested in working with businesses whose primary purpose is to be bought by Google or Facebook.
  3. A business owner who is willing to invest in herself or himself. A company can only reflect the quality of thinking of its leadership. If a business owner invests properly in her or his personal strategic mindset, success will follow.
  4. Belief that external circumstances and conditions do not determine the business’ success. The company can rise above a weak economy and any other setbacks that would deter a typical business owner.

I’ve been delighted to work with business owners who embody the characteristics above. If that’s you, please apply.

I’m passionate about what I do I want to help people achieve the success and social impact they seek.

The opportunity to submit your application begins today. There’s a limited number of days to join.
