Michael Gumbley

Michael has more than twenty years’ experience managing international operations and finance in the non-profit and social enterprise sectors. He has served as CEO, CFO, COO, and as a Board Member; as well as being the Co-founder of a start-up which successfully listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in 2020. In these roles he has developed a particular specialty for launching then building entities in complex operating environments across Africa and Asia where he has worked in more than 30 countries deploying in excess of $500m for critical development projects. He thrives in start-up operations, strategic planning, change management, capacity-building, system strengthening, and project implementation. He speaks fluent French and Spanish; and holds degrees from La Sorbonne, Université de Paris (France), Georgetown University (USA), and University of Sydney (Australia). He is a former NCAA Division I tennis player, an average (thus frustrated) golfer and a (very slow) marathon runner.
