Most of our clients have extensive international operations and we are actively engaged in strategically scaling them across 5 continents. The Role

You will be in an exciting entrepreneurial position to both scale Vanreusel Ventures (internal) as well as being part of our external corporate finance/CFO delivery team (external). This is a fastpaced, highenergy, deadlinedriven position in an entrepreneurial environment.
Although we are based in San Francisco the job can be done 100% remotely if needed. Especially for the right person.

Due to the highgrowth nature of our business, the duties and responsibilities of this position will evolve over time, so we are looking for someone who has the capacity and desire to grow with the position. As such, we provide coaching and mentoring towards your goals.

You’ll work sidebyside with a small but highly creative, motivated team committed to making a transformational difference in the lives of our clients. Our team has a hybrid work environment engaging from our office in downtown San Francisco and from home. The working hours are typically 8am to 5:30pm PST, MondayFriday, but are somewhat flexible, as we are more about accomplishing certain tasks and objectives with a high level of responsiveness than adhering to a set clock in/clock-out time. Occasionally, there is a need to work additional hours on evenings and weekends which might happen a few times a year. This position entails minimal travel unless requested by the client. International travel is an option.

You will work with our team to provide advice to forprofit clients as well as nonprofit clients at the cusp of impact at scale. This would entail the following areas: modeling, FP&A, budgeting/strategic planning, investor relations, capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, IPO preparation, scaling operations, and attending board meetings.

  • Business development and networking to create predictable lead generation to meet client acquisition targets, and Setting up and maintaining key systems and processes.
  • We invest heavily in these three areas and expect you to be an integral part in driving further progress.

Key Internal Requirements

Business Development and Networking

  • Network and establish new relationships within the financial and startup ecosystem, thereby developing a consistent inflow of referrals Develop deep relationships with investment firms (VC/PE/Foundations) and HNW individuals
  • Ability to make an ask and be bold when opportunities arise.
  •  Support our outward-facing marketing to build a community around VV
  •  Ability to set targets and achieve them

Innovation of New Products

  •  Outside the box thinking to develop new financial product ideas
  •  Ability to bring together the necessary resources to support developing new products
  •   Upsell to existing clients and ensure that the business is maximizing its efforts at 100% for each client.
  •   Influence future strategies to maximize business profitability across every area of the organization

Key Responsibilities/ Outcomes to Clients

The VP Finance works directly with the CEO of the client organization and is responsible for acting as the strategic financial partner and advisor to the CEO. The VP of Finance leads on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, financial planning, strategic plan preparation, cost control, forecasting needs, the securing of new funding, financial reporting to funders and boards, corporate development and is the chief financial spokesperson for the organization.

Key External Requirements (Client Facing)

Strategy & Leadership

  • VP Finance is the financial partner and advisor to the CEO, taking a leadership role to continuously establish metrics, analyze and review current and future business activities and provide decisionmaking information. On a proactive basis, discusses and recommend best courses of action to the CEO and the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Is responsible for hiring, building, and managing a team, including the Controller, Director of Finance and Financial Analyst(s).
  • Acts as liaison and advisor on the preparation of contracts and various other legal matters.
  • Questions, coaches, and challenges the assumptions that are the foundation of the financial projections.
  •  Trains staff and raises awareness and knowledge of financial management matters.
  •  Provides actual vs. forecast performance reports to functional department heads.
  • Creates and provides the financial reporting to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Works closely with the Head of Development, COO, Head of Programs, and Country Directors.
  • Provides investment analysis for new products and evaluation of new business models.

Financial Monitoring & Control

  • Manages relationships with banks, debt and equity investors, philanthropic and other financing institutions to secure funding to meet the organization’s operating cash flow and future product development needs.
  • Completes ongoing cash flow projections and operating forecasts, reflecting latest revenues, product costs and operating expenses.
  • Maintains laser focus on short and longterm cash flow activities.
  • Manages completion of the organization’s annual audit, sales and state audits, and annual taxes including Form 990 submission for nonprofits.
  • Oversees work performed by outside accounting services, ensuring reporting is in accordance with accounting standards and other compliance requirements.
  • Establish a monthly reporting system to account for revenue booking and invoicing, sales tax and shipping cost charges, tracking of deferred revenue, customer cash receipts and accounts receivable.

  • Must have a passion for entrepreneurial ventures.
  • Minimum 10 years progressive financial and operational experience.
  • MBA, CPA, and/or CFA designation or working towards them Effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
  • Selfmotivated with excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient skills in MS Office Suite/Google Suite, specifically in: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Google Drive.
  • Flexibility in adapting to the growing and changing needs of a growing organization.
  • Ability to work independently from a home office and travel when required.
  • Must be willing to make a longterm commitment.
